Chef Melissa

Melissa came home to Magdalene House in March of 2020. Her plans for attending the Community Kitchen food service training program were delayed because of the COVID-19 restrictions. She spent the time as a volunteer for St Mary’s Food Bank. While Melissa attended chef school she was awarded the “Red Apron” Award a few times for excellent work either in her presentation or creativity with ingredients. She passed all of her exams with flying colors. Right after graduation Melissa secured employment at a local Mexican restaurant. She loves the job and loves to cook! Melissa has accomplished a lot this year, and we are looking forward to seeing her continue her growth and foster her love for cooking.
