The Raising My Voice Program - Telling the personal stories of reentry and advocating for humane reentry policies and practices.
For 2 years now, Bridges Reentry offers the Raising My Voice program to women in our Magdalene House Residential and Beyond the Gates Mentoring programs. Raising My Voice is a leadership training program for formerly incarcerated individuals that helps participants develop public speaking skills, prepares them to serve as advocates for effective, humane reentry policies and practices, and fosters civic engagement.
Below, you can find video links to hear Sarah's, Tammy's, Opalene's, and Tish's personal stories of what led to incarceration, the impact of Bridges Reentry volunteers and programs within Perryville prison and waiting for them outside to support each woman's reentry journey.
